Japan successfully developed “lithium air battery”

Want more powerful batteries? You can't just add capacity. Although Biofuel cells are being developed in various countries, they are not widely used in the market due to the cost. However, the national institute of materials science of Japan recently announced that it has developed a new type of lithium battery with unprecedented energy density. NIMS call the new lithium-ion batteries "lithium-air batteries," which are close to their limits in energy density per unit volume. At the same time, the cost can be well controlled.

NIMS said that "lithium air battery" uses carbon nanotubes as the air electrode material, and the energy density of 30mAh/cm²can be achieved by optimizing the electrode structure, which is 15 times that of ordinary lithium batteries (2mAh/cm²). NIMS said that the current "lithium air battery" is only a trial product, and will continue to optimize the design in the future, trying to further increase the energy density through stacking. Imagine that in the future, our mobile phone can be used for two weeks. When the electric car can reach 5,000 kilometers, it will definitely be a disaster for the traditional energy industry.
