AA Battery Chargers-Usage and Charging Methods

Dec 02, 2021   Pageview:959

Majority people know about the AA and AAA batteries, and are confused about the batteries. The main difference among these battery types is that it has the capability of potential charge. Its size is the significant difference that the batteries are referred to as AA & AAA, based on their dimension and size.

AA does not represent anything. It is a battery identifier for nominal voltage and given dimensions. AAA batteries are small in size in comparison to the AA batteries. The batteries size matters as they operate as per the devices as size-specific. It is not possible to fit the AA battery in the AAA battery slot, and if you wish to do so, you must use the adaptors.

Can you use any charger for AA batteries?

There are small electric torches and battery operated toys that are high consumption devices. However, it requires more than one cell to fulfill the devices voltage and the operating time requirement. AAA low power batteries are portable devices that do not need much power as the remote controllers and clocks. These are alkaline batteries that feature non-toxic materials and are recyclable.

For rechargeable batteries it requires a perfect charger. Nevertheless, for AA and AAA batteries, there is a need to find a charger to charge both batteries types. The charger features a moveable part featuring a spring to fix in the right place the battery. Thus the charger does not treat either of the batteries differently while charging.

Alkaline batteries can be recharged. The alkaline battery is sealed and if it has the label ‘rechargeable’ it can be recharged. Recharging alkaline batteries requires one to constantly cycle the charger on and off. Running for 30 minutes the charger is enough.

How can you charge your AA battery without a charger?

The following are the ways to charge your AA battery without a charger:

Battery Warming

Battery warming is possible by pushing the battery for one more time. A dead battery warming brings back the battery to life so that it can be used again. You can warm the battery by placing it in your palms and you need to rub it vigorously, like you warm yourself. You can tuck within your garments the AA battery and leave for 10 minutes on your skin.

Metal Barbeque Clamp

A metal barbeque clamp is useful to recharge an AA battery without a charger. It helps in warming batteries using the metal clamp. It is simple to use a dry and clean metal BBQ clamp, a charged battery, and a dead battery of the same type.

The steps are simple. Ensure the batteries flat sides are aligned. Place between the clamps in the same position the batteries and press them together. Ascertain the negative portions and stay in touch, so that they are together. Keep it for thirty seconds or a minute. Release after one minute to recharge the batteries. Energy of little quantity is gained to use in emergency scenarios by the dead battery.

Lemon Juice

Lemon Juice helps in reviving AAA alkaline batteries. It possesses allowing the battery to get its energy back. Immerse the AAA battery for one hour placing it in lemon juice.  Allow it to dry and the battery gets charged and is all set to use.

AA batteries are useful today. They are used in common for several devices requiring energy. It is also available in the supermarket. It cannot be recharged and trying to recharge leads to fatal results. It is to buy a new battery if you find the AA battery has stopped working and is dead. Nevertheless revive naturally one time before throwing it out. Doing so ensures the battery works for extra time. Taking care of the battery and treating them properly is a must.

How do you charge a dead AA battery?

Talking about the AA and AAA batteries, both carry similar amount of voltage. They are the same as bigger batteries, such as the type D. These batteries use a nine volt battery and a single cell battery using nearly 6 cells in the series. It produces higher voltage and the AAA batteries size is smaller in comparison to the AA batteries. It means the electrochemical material amount is smaller and it contains the required electric charge.

Both AA and AAA batteries vary as per the usage and there are no regulations and rules to use. You may bear in mind to recognize the device whether it consumes less power or a lot of power. A device requires high power, and it is recommended to use AA batteries instead of AAA.

AA batteries are the commonly used batteries and are suitable for portable devices. The batteries length can be up to the size 49.2–50.5 mm and its diameter is approximately 13.5–14.5 mm. An AA battery has a single electrochemical cell. The chemical within the batteries differ as per the type and the volt amount depending on the said chemicals.

Anytime you throw the AA battery for disposal, believing it stopped working or your device stopped working, it shows around 80% of the remaining power. AA batteries begin with using 1.5volts of energy and the batteries energy starts using up. The voltage reduces or goes down with the batteries getting used up. As the batteries dip go low to 1.35 volts, they appear to go dead. In real, they have a lot of juice left in them in balance.

For example, an AA typical battery does not work after 240 minutes on using a remote control that is powered. It takes around 95 minutes to power portable speakers, or 38 minutes of power to an RC toy. There are claims that the batteries can get 1,185 minutes out of a remote that is approximately 5 times more energy, 570 minutes from the portable speakers that approximates to 6x or 355 minutes from an RC toy that is around 9times. Batteries deliver a charge of 1.5volt from batteries when it is discharged actually to 0.6 volts.
