APR 29, 2021   Pageview:783

Power tool batteries are manufactured precisely for each model or brand of the power tool. A wide range of these batteries and compatible replacements are available on the market today. Almost everyone has at least one or two of these tools in and around the house. These tools need batteries to operate; a good power tool battery will help the tool perform its best. When a power tool battery no longer holds its charge, the decision to replace can be difficult. Many people discard their favorite power tool simply because they can’t get a replacement battery. But the good news is that you can rebuild your power tool battery back to life.

There are many advantages to using a battery rebuild service; the most obvious is the direct cost savings over battery replacement. Another great advantage of battery rebuilding service is that it is environmentally friendly. Batteries make up a large percentage of our total waste and are not very healthy for the environment. Rebuilding power tool batteries significantly reduces this waste and allows you to continue enjoying your favorite tool. Therefore using a power tool battery rebuilds service save the earth, save you money, and save your favorite power tool.

Can power tool batteries be repaired?

Power tools batteries can often be repaired by replacing one or all of the cells. Replacing a power tool battery can be expensive, and you will save money by repairing an old power tool battery instead of buying a new one. If your power tool battery pack is no longer holding its charge, purchasing a new battery is not the only solution. You can also repair your old battery.

A lot of power tools use nickel-metal hydride (NiMh) or nickel-cadmium (NiCd) battery pack rechargeable batteries, and after a few years, these batteries no longer hold a charge. NiCd batteries are made from 1.5V cells. The power tool batteries can be rebuild by taking new cells and fuse them together to fit the battery pack. The rebuild NiMh batteries last twice the life of NiCd batteries. The following are some of the power tool batteries that can be repaired DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Ryobi, and Porter-cable. Batteries Replacement is costly, replacing your power tool is even more costly. Therefore rebuilding your power tool battery is cost effective.

How do you rejuvenate power tool batteries?

You can avoid purchasing new expensive power tool batteries by rejuvenating the old ones. These batteries are used in power tools. Changes in temperature and Overcharging can lead to these batteries losing their ability to hold a charge. You can rejuvenate these batteries and continue to use them in power tools. Before you rejuvenate your power tool batteries, you need to first check the battery charger to be sure it can charge the batteries properly. Also, check for bent plugs and anything that might prevent the charger from coming into contact with the outlet. If you confirm that the charger was the reason for not charging the batteries you can replace the charger.

Make sure you wear protective gloves and glasses when zapping batteries. You need to be careful when touching the drums. And don’t forget that incorrect zapping can cause the battery to catch fire or explode.

Use a battery tester or a multimeter to zap the battery. Connect the black end of the multimeter to the flat or negative terminal of the battery. Keep pressing the negative terminal, as you touch the red end of the multimeter to the positive part of the battery. Touching the positive battery terminal creates sparks. Zapping the battery depletes them totally, allowing the batteries to be rejuvenated as if they were new batteries. Then Put the rechargeable batteries in the charger until they are completely recharged

How do you fix a cordless tool battery?

These days, Cordless tools are now the most popular tools one can easily lay hands on. The most important feature of these tools is the batteries that power them. These batteries are occasionally charged to store the electrical charges that power the tools while they are in operation. One problem that often arises with cordless tool batteries is that they can become faulty, worn-out, too hot to charge, or cannot hold a charge.

Most cordless tool makers like Makita, Ryobi, DeWalt, and Bosch, come with a pointer light system. While charging the battery, the charger displays lights that indicate any of these two possibilities. The first light is a flashing red light. This indicates that the battery is hot, the battery will not hold a charge under such conditions and may require to be cooled. What you need to do at this point is to retrieve the battery from the charger and let it cool down. When it cools down, you can put it back in the charger.

The second light is a flashing red and green light. This light could indicate one of these two possibilities. It may simply mean that the battery is not properly fixed in the charger. But, if you are sure that this is not the case, the other possibility is that the battery is faulty. With alcohol or methylated spirit, you can clean the battery and unplug the charger from the power source. If the indicator continues to show the same light even after this exercise, then you already have a battery problem. The diagnosis at this time indicates a dead battery. But, there are a number of ways you can fix the battery and bring it back to life.

One of the best ways to fix the cordless tool battery problem and bring your battery back to life is to jump-start your battery. Note that this process is not recommended by battery makers. But, the trick works, and this is how it works, get a completely charged, functional battery and connect it terminal to the terminal with the dead battery. Be sure to use 14 gauge copper wire. Make sure that the wire is properly connected to the terminals by touching the wire to the terminals. Now you can connect your battery to the power tool and the battery once again will begin to work.
